Deep on a midwinter's evening
deep on a midwinter's night
Deep on a midwinter's evening
deep on a midwinter's night

VERSE1
whispers caught on the wind
deep on a midwinter's evening
speaking the silence within
deep on a midwinter's night
carried over the earth
voices are lifted in longing (last two syllables are 8 counts each)
each soul is a seed awaiting rebirth (very quiet)
deep on a midwinter's night

VERSE 2
prayers rise into the night
deep on a midwinter's evening
each is a flame, blazing with light
deep on a midwinter's night
eyes raise reflecting the sparks
as millons of stars are falling
each a key unlocking the heart
deep on a midwinter's night

REFRAIN
Deep on a midwinter's evening
deep on a midwinter's night
Deep on a midwinter's evening
deep on a midwinter's night

Deep on a midwinter's evening
light--------------------follows out from darkness
MMMMlight---------follows out from darkness
Deep on a midwinter's night
like ------------------- the most natural thing
MMMMlike--------- the most natural thing
Deep on a midwinter's evening
life---------------------follows out from stillness
MMMMlife---------follows out from stillness
Deep on a midwinter's night
like ------------------------ earth awakening
MMMMlike ------------- earth awakening

BRIDGE
can you see the light in the darkness
can you see? (voice 2) can you see? (voice 3)
can you hear the song of the silence
can you hear? (voice 2) can you hear? (voice 3)
upon each tongue a fire burns
a shining sound, a holy word
for all we seek, in secret yearn
for Love
for Love

instrumental break (viola de gamba)

VERSE 3
one heart beats in us all
deep in the midwinter's evening
one chance to stand or to fall
deep on a midwinter's night
one world born from the old
if each of us answers the calling
and listens to the song of the soul
deep on a midwinter's night

REPEAT REFRAIN

(slowly)
Deep on a midwinter's evening
deep on a midwinter's night
Deep in the dream of the mother
Awakening into the light

instrumental segment (bagpipes)

Notes
• As far as instrumentation goes for this song, I would like it to be haunting and minimal. No drums of any kind (sorry guys). Violin and Bowed Bass, and orchestral strings, cathedral organ or a choir sound on the keyboard.. Little else.
